— HEAD STUDY —

February 12, 2007 — When I launched "DaDane" eleven years ago, it was pretty much just an excuse to teach myself how to work with Adobe Photoshop. Recently I've been attempting to learn some simple "painting" techniques, again in Photoshop. This is one of my very first attempts. (Hopefully my skills will improve.) In case you're wondering about the harle, it's Triplecrest Commander in Chief, who competed in 12-18 Month Dogs at last year's GDCA National.

Away with Enetation
Some of you may have noticed that the commenting service we've been using, Enetation, has become increasingly unreliable and "buggy" over the past year or so. That's just one of many problems. Their lack of control over comment spam is now a major hassle. It's not unusual to find over 30 spam messages posted to this site on a daily basis, all of which must be manually blocked—by me. (Talk about time-consuming!) The tech support at Enetation, which is supposed to give preferential treatment to paid subscribers like myself has deteriorated – from mediocre to virtually non-existent. Lately, I wonder if they even bother to read their email.

Hello to Haloscan
So.... it's time to bail. I just subscribed to Haloscan. They've been around for a long time so I'm hoping they'll be able to deliver a superior product. Today's page, and future pages, will use Haloscan. Please test them out. Unfortunately, our previous pages are still saddled with Enetation and its accompanying spam. If anybody knows how to import comments from Enetation into Haloscan, please let me know. I don't think it's possible.
