April 21, 2008 — Forgive my two week hiatus from DaDane of DaWeek. In Venice, using my poorly equipped Mac laptop, raw files (each over 12 meg) took too long to process. I abandoned the notion of putting photos online. There were better things to do, such as more (much more!) shooting. Despite cloudy skies and frequent rain, Venice did not disappoint. It's a magical place.

Harlequin
Pictured above is a detail from a new piece I'm working on. The "talent" was shot sitting on a bench at Piazza San Marco. Later, I decided to put her in a niche. Esther was a good sport — that paper-maché carnival mask was none too comfortable. At some point, hopefully soon, I'll organize some of my photos from Venice and put them online.
