Great shots of an elderly gentleman. From the sound of it, a leisurely photo shoot turned into Work. :-)

Ginnie-

You are a gifted story teller as well as a wonderful photographer. The photos of Pepe are great, but so is the story! I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Pepe and Merlin. Thanks for your dedication to the breed.

I agree with Christine on the ears.. my first dane {Libby} had nature ears and my new baby will have cropped ears.. the breeder that I am getting her from had all the pups cropped at a certain age.. I like the danes both ways but I would'nt do the cropping myself nor would I turn a Dane done because the ears were... maybe some day they won't crop but untill then....

Thanks, Ginnie, for the great pics (again)! You know how you get the urge to pinch the chubby cheeks of a baby? Well, I want to touch that gorgeous face of Pepe's, feel every wrinkle, and rub those ears until he makes that "ughrrr this is bliss" noise!! My five year old is starting to grey and I think it's so distinguished looking. PS - mine is partial to sniffing cat poop!

as always, a joy to look at your work. i always say Dane people are different/special people. you truly "get" the Dane personality. don't you just love the soulfullness in they're eyes. you just feel their love and devotion. Pepe is just the epitome of distinguished gentleman. thank you for being a true Daneaholic.

Ginnie, they are two great photos. They remind me of my 8 1/2 year old wonderful Rommel. Older dogs show so much wisdom in their eyes, as if saying "nothing surprises me any more".
I love those grey old faces!

Having a nine year old, natural eared, black (with lots of grey!) girl, I enjoy seeing the pics of the senior set. You capture them so well!

LOL! It would have been great to be on the sidelines watching and hearing all of this.
Pepe is a handsome boy, and those lovely ears and the distinguised gray certainly add to his appeal.
Having a veteran and a soon to be veteran I have a better appreciation for these special years.

BTW, I agree, photos of the two boys together would be nice to see.
