I am fascinated by places which are rich in history. I'm sure you'll find plenty to photograph. And there are Great Danes there for sure! Some of them are even American bred!! LOL!

Ginnie,, I know this is off the Paris trip subject but I thought I would let you know that after 5 or 6 months of coaxing,, bribing,,, pleading and finally just getting down right force full {ok maybe not forcefull} giving a few good tugs with a choke or pinch collar I finally got Sadie in the Vue.. now we can go to obiedence classes and just go for a ride and enjoy !!!! I am really excited about this and wanted to share it with you.. don't know if Merlin ever got in the Merlin-mobile or not......

Wow Ginnie, what fun! I absolutely love Paris! Have you found any breeders to visit yet? It's been a fantasy of mine to travel Europe with Danes since they are allowed so many more places than in NA. Of course getting them there is another story...
The Metro is a lot of fun too. You can get almost anywhere you'd want to go on it, or by walking.
You might like to visit the Catacombes or the sewers (les Egouts).
Ooh... so many fun things! I'm jealous!

Have a great trip!

One of my first memories of a Great Dane is from a trip through Paris. While waiting for a train to Toulouse, I saw a women sitting on a train platform, with her Great Dane sitting so regally. I remember thinking, How cool! Funny to think so many years later I own 2! Have a great trip.

I hope you get the chance to see the Great Danes of Véronique Maunder, "La Benjamine." She has been breeding great Danes for over 20 years and has the best Danes in Europe. La Benjamine is located in Les Pennes Mirabeau near Marseille. Her Danes are everything you could want in the breed and more. I live in the French Alps and have two, a male 15 months and a female 3 years. I do not breed or show my dogs but just love the look she has spent so much of her life creating.

Hi Ginnie,

wish you luck for your trip - I will have a look if I find some shows for you to visit during your stay. Is there a chance that you'll visit Germany again some time?
Hope to CU :-)
All the best for your trip

Ginnie,
Have fun in Paris. One of my favorite memories of Paris is sitting next to a beautiful Great Dane in a resturant. He had a red scarf around his neck and looked very french. That's when I knew I had to have one. Now I have 2 Daisy and 5 year old Mantle and Augustus a 2 year oln Merle. Hope you get a lot of pictures!
