Wonderful! I can't wait to hear the rest of the saga about Hector. It sounds like perhaps because of Merlin another wonderful Dane life might be saved?? I hope so!!!!

It is great to hear that, one way or another, Merlin & Jabber are still at least partly responsible for brining more happiness of Humans and Great Danes, even people & Danes they never met. Thank you Ginnie for being the vehicle to help in the brothers work.

Ginnie, Hector is such a beautiful boy. Just look at him! He's awesome. I am anticipating a happy ending for that handsome boy. Thank you for continuing to be there for Great Danes and their people. Thank you for helping me by giving advice on Moose and his situation.

i am so glad that hector found a forever home. If someone would have contacted the yahoo group for k9 addisons, we have a fund set up to help pay for medicine or to donate pills when one of our furkids die. they will enjoy him and i know that he will never suffer another crash since he is living with a vet. god bless them and him and you for all you do for our danes.

Ginnie,
I am sorry to hear about your loss. It's never easy as we all know, but better to have them for a while then not at all.
I was excited to see that you featured Hector this week. I haven't heard how he's been doing (my email doesn't work half the time....well most of the time). I am hapy to see that he is doing well.

What a beautiful boy! I have seen Marc's postings many times on the dane rescue board. He always has the dane's best interests in mind and is there for them, heart & soul! Way to go! Hector is one very, very lucky boy.

Chills...I'm on the edge of my seat, hoping that it all worked out and that Hector is enjoying his days with your vet and her husband. I don't really understand how his original owner could just sell him out that way. Of course this comment comes from some one who has taken a loan out once to pay for experimental treamtnet for a DCM dog so a little biased. Can't wait to hear the rest of the story. Beautiful boy, great name, and he deserves better than what I've heard he's had so far...

you make me cry and smile in each of your postings-my condolences fro Merlin, I truely know what it is like-and as for the power of dogs, my great aunt recently passed away suddenly. My great uncle said the only thing that kept him from taking his own life was his dog........the best $300 ever spent

what a beautifull boy !!! like all the others I'm glad he has found a great home !!!!

I hope you and you're husband and nephew have a great time in lovely Paris.. send lots of pictures...

when the time comes for another companion you'll do what is best for you.. when I lost my Libby-girl I could'nt stand the empty house.. so it was'nt very long before I or rather Sadie-Grace aquired me... I try real hard not to compare the two.... you are so right when you say it is better to have loved them and loose them then never to have loved them..
enjoy the time in Paris !!!!!!!!!!!

Ginnie,
What wonderful pictures of Hector! I had the wonderful experience of taking Hector on his last leg of the transport. He was so sweet and just majestic! I saw Nori and Will instantly bond with Hector. I am so glad I got to spend a short time with Hector!

Ginnie,
I am so sorry for your loss of Merlin. It brings tears to my eyes as I remember my own sweet girl, Maya, who we lost six years ago. Fortunately, Nessa has taken over our lives in her place.
Thank you so much for this beautiful site. I have been checking it for years, but have never sent you a comment before. I wanted to let you know how sad it is to hear the news about Merlin.

I'm just catching up after being too busy to check your site for awhile, and am surprised to see that you're quoting me again. Most of the words in your "Introducing Hector" section came from my original plea for help for him back in January. :-)

I'm glad to see the story on him and am anxious to read the follow up story. I knew where he was headed, but hadn't heard an update in awhile.

For those who may think Hector came out of a bad situation, I don't believe that's true. I've spoken with his original owner and Hector's vet in Marble Falls, and I believe that he had a pretty cushy life there. I don't know how someone who seemed to care that much for her pet could walk away from him like that, but there are a lot of things about people I'll never understand.

Thanks again, and if you see Hector, please give him a hug for me.

Sitting here, listening to my 4 year old blue merle lady (a rescue herself) snore louder than the TV show I am attempting to watch, I read about Hector and am trying not to cry down my fool face. I am so grateful for all those who love these beautiful rescued beings enough to take the time to ensure their well being until they can join their new families. Our family was not a complete one until our girl came into our lives. Thank you too, Ginnie for your site. We enjoy it a lot! May you have a lifetime of tail-wags and sloppy dog kisses!
