Ginnie, I am curious as to who is cleaning up after Hannah & her littermates. It is good to hear that everything seems to be working well for Sam after his travelling experience.

Is it possible Cletus and Sam could end up in a forever home together? I think that would be such a wonderful outcome for poor Sam, after his rocky life thus far. Please keep us posted, thanks Ginnie!

what a sweet face for a monday morning !!!!! I too hope that maybe Sam and new found friend can stay together,, especially since they have taken a liking of each other and it would be less traumatic to separate them at this point... but what will be will be,,, either way hopefully they will both end up in a forever home...

OH MY GAWD what a darling little girl! my best friend was raised with fawn danes and I would love to have one. Of course, blacks are so special since I have one of course. So very happy to hear that Sam is well and has a playmate. What a great story! Keep us posted on Sam please

One year ago I adopted Kira and Diamond , two young black females from Great Dane Rescue. I was only planning on adopting one Dane as I already one other older Dane and a Husky cross but when I saw them and read that Rescue would like them to go together I couldn't resist. It worked out well because my older Dane Tasha would not have been up to the level of play that they have together. Oh yes they do get into more together and Tasha looks at the young upstarts with disgust at times but they have added a lot of fun to the mix. Here's hoping Sam and Cletus will find someone to adopt them together.

Ginnie, thanks for continuing to update on Sam. In the 2 hours that I had him, I just absolutely fell in love with him. He was just an angel during the ride, ended up sitting in the middle of my mon and I and laying his head on my forearm. Please continue to keep us updated on him. He took a little piece of my heart with him when he got in that next car! Thanks, Jennifer

Thank you for the update on Sam. I think his story touched us all. And yes, 2 (or more) danes are definitely better than 1...

Almost every week I am brought to tears on this site- this time for all good reasons. In that photo of Hannah I can see a beautiful soul inside those beautiful eyes and it's so good to hear Sam is doing well.

Than k you!

That right! Hannah was bred by Cindy Niske. She was part of a really beautiful litter.
