I count Liz and Kathleen among those I admire the most in danes. I only wish I had them closer to join the cameradie that is palable in their love of blue danes, their love of family and community. These people are an inspiration. Thanks, Ginnie, for your choice of profiling 2 very grand ladies.

What a wonderful legacy!! And a joyous tribute to a breeding program "done right". Although I wasn't there, I heard about this - what a wonderful idea, and what an amazing "family"!! Thanks for the photos Ginnie!! This is what it's all about.

This is such a wonderful tribute to Kappadane. I'm honored that I know Liz and Kathleen from being on the AZ Great Dane Drill Team. They both have worked so hard and they have such a wonderful commitment to Blues and danes in general. Thanks for this Ginnie!

Well I cried when I saw it happen at the Parades and I cried again when I read about it this morning. Thank you for highlighting one of the wonderful moments of the recent Nationals. I always have to be careful where I am when I look at DaDane... so that people don't worry about why I am crying!

I've known Sky since she walked in the show ring as a baby. (I won't comment on<G>how long Liz & I've known each other.) My Tia (who is now 11+) and Sky showed against each other alot. In fact Sky is the only color dog to ever win over my Tia. They were both pointed as puppies and finished before they were two--not that common for "ladies of color" girls especially. And I remember losing my class (12-18) to Sky & Liz in Albuquerque in 1996, and her telling me she was going on to CO to try for majors. She laughed when I told her good luck; get that pretty bitch finished so I can finish mine! LOL! Tia & Sky have in many ways lived parallel lives ( Versatile CHs, multi-titled offspring) & Liz and I've had many a discussion about these fabulous foundation girls who have given us so much. What a nice tribute her "puppy people" did for her at the Nationall-just what a breeder wants to see--a long line of well-made dogs and happy owners that came out of all that dreaming, work and always a bit of heartache. Sky was lovely & her legacy will live on and on, so she is immortal in a very important way. Thanks Liz for sharing her with us all! jpY

What a blessing it is for Liz to have had this fabulous moment with Sky at the parades shortly before she had to say good bye to Sky

Ginnie, Thank you for running the tribute to my Sky and to Kathleen for writing it. Sky was my first champion and a very special lady. I will never forget her or the Parade at the Nationals. I am glad I have her in the Kappadanes we have and will have in the future.
