Beautiful! I've been to Florence a couple of times and love it. Your photos give me a longing to go again.

What kind of filter were you using for some of those shots?

Hi Ginnie,

Beautiful pictures! Are you playing with the "Lens Baby"?

Ginnie @ 2:19PM | Nov 27th 2006|

Yes, Mary, those "moody" photos were shot using my Lensbaby 2. For those of you who aren't familiar with the LensBaby, it's a "selective focus" SLR camera lens with a uniquely fllexible neck. This enables you to "squish" the lens into various positions, blurring and/or distorting certain areas of your photo. So, unlike a filter, you actively manipulate your image before you hit the shutter. It's pretty neat, but I'm still getting used to it. The lens has various aperture settings and each aperture behaves a bit differently.

Ginnie - you are one of the lucky ones who has truly found their calling in life. To say your pictures are worth a thousand words is an understatement. While I always enjoy seeing your pictures of the Danes, viewing far away places through your camera lens is always a special treat. Thank you for taking the time to share it with us.

WOW, what breathtaking photos! You're bringing back memories that I'd not thought of in almost 18 years. THANK YOU!!!!! Sadly, when I was over all my film got erased, so I have nothing to show for my time in Italy.
It looks like you had great weather, and a great time, I'm so happy for you!
