Ginnie,
I have to admit that I had forgotten Elmer's story until you refreshed my memory (which has never been that good anyway. Beautiful story of a handsome boy. Please send our condolences to Wendi and Richard.

God Speed Elmer. Run with the other Angel Danes and wait at the Bridge. Someday you will be altogether again. Sending prayers to Wendi and Richard to help ease some of their pain.

I remember reading the first story, with my own merle girl, Claire, leanging against me and being so grateful to Wendi and Richard and the folks at All Pets. Now my merle girl is a dowager diva, but she is still here, leaning against me, sending leans to Wendi and Richard and woo-woo's to Elmer... Godspeed, sweet boy.

My condolences to Richard and Wendi on their loss of Elmer. After losing 2 dogs within 11 months, and one to gastric cancer, the pain of loss is all too real to me, and the story brought tears to my eyes.
Kudos to Wendi and Richard for giving Elmer a wonderful eight years!

I first met Elmer just after I'd picked up my dirty and dusty McNab at the spca and took him straight to the dog park. He was 13 months. Gentle big Elmer was his first friend and the only dog id ever seen him give kisses to. We will both miss Elmer this special and gentle soul.

Elmer is so missed in my heart and at the park. His lean, nuzzle and gentle shove so he could get to Richards hand for a treat. It's comforting to know that my Cindy has her good friend Elmer to walk with.
Love and doggie kisses to Wendi, Richard and Sherman
