DaDane of DaWeek

"In Memorium"

About a month ago, Bob and Pat Haltmeier lost their beloved Great Dane, Ch. Haltmeier's Egoiste. Ego died suddenly in his sleep. He was eight years old.

According to their friend Nancy Gale, "This beautiful black boy was an ambassador of our breed. Deep black with white blaze on his chest and the most gorgeous of heads, Ego measured 37" and weighed 190 lbs. I can remember this huge dog coming up to me with a tiny blue teddy bear in his mouth. He wanted me to play with him. Ego was so gentle with that little bear, especially for such a huge dog. When looking in his eyes you could see the kindest soul. He will be greatly missed."
