"It's Showtime!"
All around the country, Great Danes are preparing for the annual Great Dane Club of America National Specialty which begins Saturday, October 16. This week-long event is taking place in Oxnard, California, a lovely seaside community located between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles.
The GDCA National is the "Westminster" of Danedom. Folks, this is a really BIG show for really BIG dogs!

If you are anywhere near Oxnard next week, don't want to miss this exciting event. Everyone is welcome, and you'll have the opportunity to see for yourself many of the world's top Great Danes competing in various categories. Last year's National featured hundreds of Great Danes. (I heard there were over 600 Danes on the premises!)
For those of you who can't attend the show, the internet is coming to the rescue. Beginning Saturday, Scot Billings of Rokadane Kennel will be posting daily photos of the activities on the Great Dane Reporter's Web site: http://www.gdr.com.
